A home for ambitious students at the U.

Alpha Kappa Psi develops principled business leaders. At the University of Miami, that work happens through the Beta Pi Chapter.

Beta Pi Chapter

We are a community of students at the University of Miami who support one another's ambitions and build friendships that last beyond college. Established in 1941, our chapter brings together members from the Miami Herbert Business School and across the university. Each semester, our brothers participate in professional workshops, alumni and faculty networking, community service, and brotherhood events, building the skills, confidence, and relationships that support them throughout college and their careers.

Alpha Kappa Psi

Alpha Kappa Psi coat of arms

Founded on October 5, 1904, at New York University, Alpha Kappa Psi is the oldest and largest professional business fraternity. With chapters across the United States and abroad, AKPsi connects students and alumni through a shared commitment to brotherhood, knowledge, integrity, service, and unity. The fraternity prepares members to become principled business leaders while building friendships and professional connections that last a lifetime.

Our five pillars

Five values, a stronger tomorrow

BrotherhoodFostering trust and aid among members

We build lifelong friendships with people who challenge, support, and inspire one another to be the best versions of themselves.

Some of the best friendships in our chapter start at a brotherhood event. Whether we are watching a game, going out to a local restaurant, or spending time together after a busy week, these events give us a chance to get to know each other beyond classes and career goals. Making time for each other is a big part of what keeps our chapter close.

Those friendships carry into everyday life. Our brothers are there to help before an interview, celebrate a new internship, or talk through a difficult week. We want every member to have people they can count on and feel comfortable being themselves around. That sense of belonging is what makes Beta Pi special, and it stays with our brothers long after graduation.

UnitySharing a common vision for the future

We bring together students from different backgrounds, majors, and perspectives, creating a supportive community rooted in respect and a shared drive to make a difference.

Everyone comes to Beta Pi with different interests, experiences, and plans for the future. Being part of our chapter gives us the opportunity to learn from those differences while working toward shared goals. We want every brother to feel included, be heard, and have a part in shaping our chapter.

Unity takes effort from all of us. It means showing up to events, helping an idea become a reality, and supporting the brothers who put time into making our chapter better. Whether we are organizing a service project or celebrating someone's success, we each have something to contribute. Our chapter is strongest when members take pride in being involved and care about each other's experience.

ServiceContributing time, talent, and treasure

We are committed to giving back through hands-on service and meaningful involvement in the Miami community.

Giving back is a regular part of life in Beta Pi. Through volunteering and community outreach, our brothers spend time supporting people and organizations at the University of Miami and throughout the surrounding community. Serving together also gives us a chance to learn more about our community and the ways we can contribute.

We have a leadership role dedicated to this work through our Executive Vice President, who coordinates service opportunities and community outreach throughout the semester. This keeps service a priority and helps our members find ways to get involved. We want our brothers to carry that commitment with them beyond college and continue making time for the communities they call home.

IntegrityActing with honesty and ethics

We hold ourselves to high standards, acting with honesty, accountability, and a commitment to doing what is right in all that we do.

We expect our brothers to be people others can count on. That starts with being honest, treating people with respect, and following through on what we say we will do. Whether we are working on a class assignment, fulfilling a chapter responsibility, or representing Beta Pi at a professional event, our actions affect the trust people place in us.

We also believe in owning our mistakes and being willing to have difficult conversations. Holding ourselves and each other accountable helps us grow and keeps our chapter a place where members feel respected. As we move into our careers, we want to bring those same habits with us and earn a reputation for doing the right thing.

KnowledgeEmphasizing shared education and experience

We pursue continuous learning through professional development, real-world experiences, and a constant curiosity to grow.

There is always someone in our chapter to learn from. A brother who just went through recruiting can help someone prepare for their first interview, while another can share advice from an internship or introduce members to a career they had never considered. We help each other with interview practice, networking preparation, resume reviews, and the questions that come up along the way.

Our workshops and conversations with alumni and faculty give us more opportunities to keep learning. Just as much can come from sitting down with another brother, asking for honest feedback, or sharing a useful resource. We want members to feel comfortable asking questions and passing along what they know. When one brother gains experience, that knowledge can help the next person take a step forward.
